Pumpkins!

It took us 3 days to carve pumpkins this year. No, they are not that elaborate! Monday night we were supposed to do the whole thing (it didn't help that we actually had to go get the pumpkins still), but it took us the whole evening just to hollow out the pumpkins and choose what we wanted to carve. The girls are not satisfied with a crooked, uneven jack-o-lantern face anymore. Vanessa chose a cat with the moon behind it and Hunter ended up choosing a spider. Tuesday we got the patterns drawn on the pumpkins. Wednesday we went to carve and the pumpkins were already moldy inside. Yuck! Paul washed them out and helped the girls carve them. Then we took them outside to find the perfect spot to display them. We were going out to take pictures of them and Christopher just had a diaper on but since it has been so hot I told him to put his shoes on and come on. Wiggles was on the tv to entertain him during the carving and I thought he was still distracted and just watching tv because he did not come out with us. Eventually out he came carrying his nice shirt he wears to church on Sunday. He actually went into his room, opened his dresser and got out clothes because he did not want to go outside in just a diaper. Pretty good for 19 months old! Notice he does have his shoes on also!

Sadly, the pumpkins did not last 24 hours. They were already falling down and decomposing by morning. We will have to get better pumpkins next year or hope for more fall-like weather.
